BEFORE YOU MAKE THE MOVE
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Is Virfice the right AutomateWoo alternative?
Yes. Virfice is a compelling AutomateWoo alternative if you want campaigns, a visual email builder, forms, contact fields and automation together in WordPress. Both plugins keep customer data on your site and use fixed licenses. Virfice’s advantage is the broader built-in email marketing toolkit, with fewer separate tools needed for these features. Compare the workflows you use, delivery costs and any extra extensions before switching.
How is Virfice different from AutomateWoo?
AutomateWoo specializes in WooCommerce workflows built from triggers, rules and actions. Virfice combines store follow-ups with list-based campaigns, native forms, visual email design and supported WordPress system email customization. Choose around the features your business actually needs.
Does AutomateWoo include a visual email builder?
No. The base plugin does not include a visual email builder. AutomateWoo uses WooCommerce email templates and supports custom template styling. Its documentation points to separate email customizer plugins for richer visual design. Virfice includes its visual email builder, ready-made templates and reusable email sections.
Does AutomateWoo support birthday emails and double opt-in?
No, not both in the base plugin. Birthday workflows require the separate AutomateWoo Birthdays add-on. Its current signup form confirms new email addresses before subscribing them. These are different capabilities: a birthday add-on requirement does not mean double opt-in is missing.
Will my AutomateWoo workflows transfer automatically?
No automatic conversion is promised. Review every trigger, condition, delay and email, rebuild the supported workflow in Virfice, then test it. Disable the old workflow when you activate the replacement to avoid duplicate sends.
Official sources & comparison scope
Reviewed October 26, 2026. AutomateWoo base license: $159 per year for one site. Both products are native, self-hosted plugins with fixed licenses. AutomateWoo’s form shortcode and confirmed signup are distinct from a visual form builder. Its customer-account trigger, role action and rich order rules are supported; admin-level role changes are restricted. Its workflow editor is distinct from a visual flow canvas. Native WooCommerce template inheritance is not a complete visual email builder. Birthday automation needs the separate Birthdays add-on. Crosses indicate no equivalent native feature as described or no confirmation in the reviewed documentation, not that custom development is impossible. AutomateWoo opt-in imports are not equivalent to a general contact-field CSV importer. Customer/user metadata is supported; an equivalent contact-field builder was not confirmed. Extra extension requirements vary by workflow. AutomateWoo is a trademark of its owner. This is an independent Virfice comparison.
